Imagine you travel through your life like a Bee—moving in a figure eight lying on its side, the lemniscus. You loop around all your life’s obligations, goals, cultural and family expectations and then you loop around your deep inner life, your dreams, your visions, your hopes.
One loop is like a planner where your day is allocated and scheduled by appointments, your alarm clock is set and your to do list is on your desk. This is the loop most people find themselves circling through.
But imagine there’s another loop—a loop where the aha moments, the yearnings for magic, the desires for the unexpected are awakened.
And imagine you flow easily through the two loops—one that meets your outward needs and the other that explores your inward expressions… This is the Heroine’s Journey.
The Women’s March on Washington will have all of us marching and pledging our support so visibly the attention will reverberate within communities around the world, on the news and in governments. It will be a strong message to our leaders that women’s rights are human rights.
This is the outward action of the lemniscus being HEARD!
At the same time, deep inside all of us sharing the values of the Women’s March on Washington and the feminine principles behind it will be the composting, the alchemy, the spirit, the soul weaving, igniting, connecting to a deeper spirit that inspires nurturance, courage and joy for the protection of all, including the planet. This is the inward experience of the lemniscus to be UNDERSTOOD!
Can you imagine how much more powerfully we can be both heard and understood—how much stronger our message is, and how much more fulfilling and satisfying each of our individual journeys are—when we flow easily through BOTH loops?
I invite you to walk the Heroine’s Journey Leminscus during the Women’s March on Washington (or in your local community!).
